The digitisation activities at the Barracco Museum in Rome involved a selection of finds from the Middle Eastern collection. The objects, a series of cuneiform tablets and an inscribed foundation’s nail, were amazingly well-preserved. These were 3D documented via structured-light 3D scanning. The 3D scanner used on this occasion was Scan in a Box, which proved essential to record the fine details of the inscriptions on the objects. The 3D models were 3D printed afterwards, using an FDM technology, as part of a thesis research on digital tools for museum accessibility.
